Theoretical classes are noteworthy, yes, but definitely no substitute for Experience. A person gets educated through exposure and repeatedly performing the same actions regularly. Daily activities like cooking, gardening and driving are very good examples of educating oneself through constant exposure. One only gets richer from the experience which in turn reflects upon society in general.

An educated person is able to handle the daily problems of life in a better way. He is able to make good judgment by using what he has learnt at the appropriate time. Reading is one of the best and easiest ways of educating ourselves. Newspapers and magazines help in keeping us informed of the latest happenings around the world. A person appears to be learned if he uses bits and pieces of information that he has read while in conversation with others.

A person maybe naturally gifted with a lot of abilities but unless they are fine-tuned they serve no purpose at all. Natural abilities are like Plants - they need pruning constantly and regularly. Some plants even need care, such as that given to children, else they may perish. Similarly, the ability of a person too needs constant pruning by STUDY. Studies, by itself, give forth a lot of directives and it is up to each individual to judge what is required for him depending upon the circumstances. This is where EDUCATION comes into play. A learned person uses his knowledge and experience in a most useful manner.

Apart from reading, travel plays a major part in the concept of education. Through travel, one tends to get educated about the various aspects of the place he visits. The people, their culture, eating habits, their attire and of course, the living conditions of the local people. Not to mention the gaining of knowledge by participating in the local festivals and learning about the various art forms.

The art of observation plays a very important role in a successful person. Education has to help a man to observe, think and then make proper judgment in taking decisions in day-to-day activities. Education is enlightenment and helps in improving the quality of life of the people. Today, technology has made such huge leaps of improvement that it is difficult for us to imagine the struggle our forefathers had been through in various aspects of life. All of which has been made possible solely due to research and the advancement made through Education. Hence, it can safely be said that education is the Essence of Humanity.
